Kanu petitions UN, US others over army invasion – Punch Newspapers

The chief of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has petitioned the United Nations, the European Union and the Presidents of the United States, Russia and Israel over the invasion of the south-eastern area by troopers.

In the petition dated September 14 and signed by his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the IPOB chief alleged intimidation, torture, arrest, abduction and killing of the individuals of the area by troopers.

Kanu stated the invasion would proceed if the worldwide neighborhood stored mute on the matter.

The letter partly learn, “Unarmed civilians largely made up members of the Indigenous People of Biafra at the moment are being tortured and murdered in chilly blood every day.

“We have little doubt that the undisclosed purpose for deploying troops in South-Eastern states by the President (Muhammadu) Buhari-led administration is to assault unarmed and defenseless members of the Indigenous People of Biafra who’re merely exercising their constitutional assured rights to self-determination.

“The state of affairs within the South-East of Nigeria is severe and calls for your pressing motion Sir.

“The modus operandi of the Operation Python Dance II presently adopted by the navy deployed within the South-East offends all recognized guidelines of professional engagement even in a warfare zone.”
