Charlottesville: State of emergency over US far-right rally

Officials in Charlottesville within the US state of Virginia have declared a state of emergency forward of a big march by white nationalists.

The transfer permits native authorities to request further assets if wanted, the police division says.

Thousands of individuals are anticipated to hitch the “Unite the Right” rally in opposition to plans to take away a statue of a pro-slavery US Civil War normal.

Far-right demonstrators and counter-protesters have clashed.
